Karate for kids
Improve your child’s discipline.
Karate lessons for kids provide structure and discipline that help them learn acceptable behavior and heed authority.
Help your child treat others with greater respect.
At Katsu Dojo, we teach children that everyone deserves respect and that no one deserves to be mistreated. Also, if they want to be respected by others, they first must learn to respect themselves.
Increase your child’s capacity for self-control.
Karate requires your child to think about an action and anticipate a possible reaction. This helps kids to be aware of their own thoughts and feelings and also teaches them to control their impulses and consider consequences.
Develop your child’s leadership skills.
At Katsu Dojo, as kids rise through belt ranks, they interact with both more experienced students and newer ones. They benefit from peer mentoring and in turn learn to become role models for newer students.
Teach your child to defend himself.
Self-defense techniques are a core part of our martial arts curriculum. When children know how to defend themselves, they will naturally project more confidence and become less likely to be bullied. That confidence will also help them handle themselves in the face of aggressors.
